Dubai night running: Series 2

Second in the series of 'night running' photos. Training runs armed with Pentax Optio 6.0. Tonight was was a 13 km route starting parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road, over to the Burj Al Arab, along the beaches and back home along Al Thanya Street. Black cats, national guys watching TV and chatting on the beach, taxi queues and a drink stop at a night shop.

Side vents?

Seems to be a current trend for side vents on cars... fashion or function? (Felice's) Chrysler Crossfire pictured above.

Two loosely related pics. A typical Beach Road late morning 'on the verge of starting (or finishing) working' gathering of men under the shade of a tree. And below; 'standalone washing facility' just off the main strip.

Latest editions to the aquarium - two fresh water Blue Lobsters. (Tho I believe these are actually crayfish.) One called first dibs on the cave, the other hides in the plants. Hover up tank debris once the lights are out.

New fish, Puffers are gone

Had to get shot of the Puffers. Way too aggressive for this passive aquarist (?). The chap in Satwa who sold them to me took them back. Replaced with Guppies, Gourmais and Tetras... or so I'm told. Feeding time video below.

Date Delights

Right now these are the only things I can eat whilst running. Used one on the Dubai Marathon; will stock up for Singapore 70.3 and other international races this year.

Dubai night running: Series 1

First series of pictures from night training runs. 13km tonight. In, around and along Beach Road. Deserted streets, sandy scrub alleys, hum of street lights, barbers, folks cruising in massive pickup trucks and the Dubai runners lifeline - the chilled public water taps.

Green Spotted Puffer Fish

Check out these nibblers! Straight outta Satwa. Fresh water Green Spotted Puffer Fish. They swim like seahorses. Oddly relaxing to watch tho.
