Another new series on the site - urban off-road biking. Making the best of Dubai's 'half-finished' state. Umm Suqeim, Jumeriah and New Dubai have fair share of scrub land and 4x4 hard packed sand/dirt plots. Aim to shoot a video in the coming weeks. The only four folks in Dubai (who don't normally cycle to work) ditching the cars and biking to the office? Most other 'cyclists' this morning were either delivering something or had hedge clippers on board.

Extended gallery. Run, metro, run; with Samantha. 2km to Mall of the Emirates metro station, descend at Al Jafiliya. Crowded trains! Trade Centre roundabout, Al Diyafah Street (is buzzing), Russian Beach, Beach Road to Al Thanya. Approx 20km in total. The road to Singapore (70.3) starts here.
